Check what the vehicle actually is
Colorado DMV’s non-traditional vehicle rule distinguishes golf carts from qualifying low-speed electric vehicles. It states that golf carts are not titled or registered for on- or off-highway use. Adding equipment to a golf cart is not proof that it qualifies for registration. Ask the DMV or county motor vehicle office about the exact documents for the vehicle you are considering.
Castle Rock has specific restrictions
Castle Rock’s published guidance says ordinary golf carts are prohibited on Town roads, sidewalks, paths, and trails, with golf-course use and a Town-business exception described in its rules. The Town distinguishes low-speed electric vehicles, which may use Town streets with speed limits of 30 mph or less. Read the official guidance before planning a route.
Your mailing address is not the whole answer
Check the jurisdiction for every road you intend to use. A mailing address can differ from the authority responsible for a particular road. Ask about crossings, route restrictions, required documents, and community or course rules. Permission in one community does not establish permission in another.

What is the exact vehicle classification? Can the seller provide the VIN and manufacturer compliance documentation? What title or registration documents are supplied? Which authority confirms your intended route? Get answers before paying a deposit.
